Wedding ceremony on Hayman Island, November 2012

Yesterday I had the privilege of officiating at the ceremony of Malcolm & Simone at Coconut Beach, Hayman Island. Situated on the southern side of the island, Coconut Beach is the perfect setting for an intimate beach wedding.  The bay has a beautiful outlook over the Coral Sea and makes the perfect backdrop for those photos of your special moment.

The chic styling was was created by the talented Vanessa Bye of I Do Events Whitsundays, creating the gorgeous setting for the lovebirds to exchange their personally-written vows in front of their family and friends.

Hayman Island is an outstanding private island resort here in the beautiful Whitsundays and if you are considering a Whitsunday wedding, I highly recommend the fantastic in-house team of wedding coordinators to help make your dream ceremony come true.

For information on your wedding at Hayman Island, please contact me or visit Hayman Island Weddings here.

Remember to request Jessica Stafford as your Whitsundays Marriage Celebrant!

A ceremony location - Champagne Events Whitsunday Gardens

Recently I was invited to a new wedding ceremony location launch here in The Whitsundays and I was blown away!

Located in Mount Julian, only 15 minutes from Airlie Beach, I found myself wandering around the beautiful gardens at the homestead of locals Rachelle May & Ian of Champagne Events Whitsunday.  As we sipped champagne in the afternoon sun, Rachelle led us through the gate to "Ava May's Garden", where I felt like I had just stepped onto the page of a fairtyale book, with a never-ending passage of shady trees with romantic ceremony spots tucked away here and there amongst the big trunks and tropical landscaping.

Back around towards the main house is a beautiful reception area, with outdoor tables and chairs styled for your event, overlooking the huge outdoor Balinese Hut that houses the bar and entertainment for your occasion.  Think: classical guitar, jazz, bossa nova...

With plenty of lawn space for dancing, awesome hosts AND a huge cubby house for the kids, this venue ticks all the boxes if you are looking for an outdoor, funky, elegant, yet homely vibe for your Whitsunday wedding ceremony and/or reception.

For enquiries please call Rachelle at Champagne Events Whitsunday on 0438 395 069.

Airlie Beach - the gateway to your Whitsunday Wedding!

You don't have to stay on an island to have a magical Whitsunday wedding!  Famously known as "the gateway to the 74 Whitsunday Islands" Airlie Beach mainland and has plenty to offer.  Known for it's sailing, snorkelling, fresh seafood & relaxed atmosphere, Airlie Beach has long been a popular attraction with travellers from all over the world.  Located on the doorstep of the Great Barrier Reef, this lush tropical mainland is a place I am so lucky to now call home.

Airlie Beach boasts two beaches – the Airlie Beach foreshore is located in the centre of town along The Esplanade, overlooking Pioneer Bay.   The famous palm tree lined beach makes the perfect backdrop for your ceremony photos at sunset.

Boathaven Beach was opened in 2011, and is located at the Port of Airlie development on the Eastern side. Boathaven Beach was designed to be all tidal, remaining beautifully sandy in all tides and is open to the public every day.

With a huge choice of accommodation from luxurious resort style to budget backpacker cabins, you're bound to find the perfect place to stay whilst on your honeymoon.

For information on Airlie Beach and it's surrounding areas, visit the Helpful Links & FAQ's page of my website here.

Nice day for a Whitehaven wedding!

Today I had the pleasure of marrying Kerri & Jim on the beautiful Whitehaven Beach, on Whitsunday Island!

Whitehaven Beach, named the world's top eco-friendly beach in 2010, is made of pristine silica sand surrounded by crystal aqua water.  Australia's most photographed beach, Whitehaven is a must see when you arrive for your Whitsunday wedding.  In fact, if you fancy the ultimate beach wedding at a world-famous location, why not follow in Kerri & Jim's footsteps and arrive in style via seaplane, looking over the amazing sand swirls at Hill Inlet and exchange your vows barefoot with this magnificent backdrop?

The two lovebirds were joined only by their three kids, photographer, pilot and of course myself as their Marriage Celebrant - what a beautiful, intimate way to get hitched in paradise!

If you would like to elope to Whitehaven Beach for your special day, this can be organised.  Please contact me to find out more.

Thanks to Total Weddings for some of these amazing photographs.

Congratulations Mr & Mrs Mitchell!

What an amazing wedding!

Today I had the privilege of officiating at a wedding of two dear friends on-board the Denison Star, a luxurious 107 foot motor cruiser.  What a way to get married!

Cruising around the beautiful Whitsunday Islands, watching whales play in the sparkling aqua water as guests sipped champagne under the crimson sunset, I couldn't help but think I have the best job in the world!

Lisa & Dale, thanks for a great day and for choosing me as your Marriage Celebrant!  Best wishes for your future together ❤

Something old, something new, something borrowed....something BLUE

We have all heard the wedding tradition – Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed and Something Blue …. but have you heard of the ending?

The full version of the rhyme is said to be:

Something old, something new,
Something borrowed, something blue,
And a silver sixpence in her shoe.

These are all basically “good luck charms” for the bride on her big day:

Something old representing continuity; something new offers hope for the future; something borrowed is usually an item from a happily married friend or family member, whose good fortune in marriage is supposed to carry over to the new bride; something blue stands for love, as the colour blue has been long connected to weddings and a sixpence in your shoe is a wish for good fortune in the marriage.
If you are looking for a modern marriage celebrant for your Whitsunday wedding, maybe I could be your "something blue"?!
If you would like to hear more about my services, please don't hesitate to contact me.

February 29th 2012 - "Ladies' Privilege"

Well ladies, it only comes around once every 4 years - that's right!  Tomorrow is February 29th, and due to folk tradition, this day in Leap Years is the only time women were permitted to propose marriage to men.  This belief was often referred to as "The Ladies' Privilege".

So, if you are feeling brave, pluck up the courage & ask your special guy to make it official - you only live once! Plus, 2016 is a long way away...
